What is your job title?  

I am a Teaching Assistant (TA). 

Brief description of what your job involves?   

I work with Clare Scott, Jackie Le Cornu and the rest of the Student Support Team to support and assist students in classrooms as well as in Vibert. I will also be helping the Modern Foreign Languages department by providing lunchtime sessions to help students prepare for their French GCSEs.  

Short description of where you were previously working? 

I have been a full-time mum for the last 8 years, looking after my two sons. Before having children, I was a Solicitor in England. 

Why did you choose Victoria College?   

After gaining some TA experience working in a primary school, I realised that I wanted to support students with their secondary education. I was very keen to be a part of the caring and supportive team here that look after many of the boys and help them to make the most of their time at Victoria College. I knew that it would be a rewarding place to work and that I would be proud to have a role in it.  

Best thing about working at Victoria College so far?   

The friendliness and warm welcome from everyone I’ve met! 

Interesting/fun fact about yourself?  

I have climbed a teeny tiny bit of the Himalayas after accidentally travelling to Kashmir. 

Tell us about your hobbies. 

I love being outside - going for long walks with my family and exploring new parts of the island. I also love to travel and enjoy good food and good wine! 

What do you enjoy most about living in Jersey?  

I love Jersey’s coastlines and feel so lucky to live somewhere so beautiful. There is such a strong sense of community here and I also love being so close to France.

Brief description of what your job involves?   

It's a mix of working in Reception and responding to reprographics requests.   

Short description of where you were previously working?  

I have previously been working in primary schools as a Teaching Assistant/Keyworker. 

Why did you choose Victoria College?  

I was looking for an administrative role still within a school setting. 

Best thing about working at Victoria College so far?  

The friendly and welcoming staff. 

Interesting/fun fact about yourself?   

I couldn’t possibly say!!! 

Tell us about your hobbies.  

I enjoy swimming, walking, spending time with my family and socializing with friends. 

What do you enjoy most about living in Jersey?  

Being Jersey born, this has always been my home and it’s a beautiful island. I love being surrounded by the sea.

I am returning to work after a long career break having worked in the legal profession.   

Why did you choose Victoria College?   

I decided on Victoria College as it seemed like a really pleasant working environment to return to after my career break. The College offered a change in the type of work I had undertaken in the past and I was especially interested in the insight this role would give me into the education system.  

Best thing about working at Victoria College so far?   

I have liked the people the best so far.  Everyone has been very welcoming and friendly. 

Interesting/fun fact about yourself?   

I lived in Asia for a lot of my life.  

Tell us about your hobbies?  

Pilates, Yoga, Cooking and travel. 

What do you enjoy most about living in Jersey?  

The natural beauty.
