VCJ Headteacher wins Director of the Year
Congratulations to Victoria College's Headteacher, Dr Gareth Hughes, who has won the Institute of Director's Public Sector Director of the Year Award with the judges' comments as follows:
'Gareth has been a driving force behind work to deliver cultural change, improve wellbeing and pupil performance, and to increase the recruitment and retention of staff within Victoria College.
The panel commended Gareth’s visibility as a leader, his inclusive and engaging communication style and his commitment to creating an environment where children and staff can both learn and grow. He has ensured all children at the College have a voice and has made clear his desire to embed a culture of kindness for all. The positive impacts of his approach and his leadership have been widely recognised by stakeholders.
