Victoria College 175th Anniversary Bursary Campaign

 Invest in Potential. Transform Futures.

Victoria College has, for generations, been a place where young people are challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their full potential.

As we approach our 175th anniversary in 2027, we are preparing to launch an important campaign, one that looks forward as much as it honours our past.

Why This Campaign Matters

Victoria College, as a Government of Jersey school, believes that ability and ambition, not financial circumstances, should determine a young person’s future.

Across our Island, there are young people who are curious, capable, ambitious and full of potential.

Yet for many families, the financial barriers to accessing a world-class education remain significant.

At its core, this campaign is about social mobility, hope and opportunity.

“There is plenty of talent out there, but a lack of opportunity.”
Dr Gareth Hughes, Headteacher

The Impact of a Bursary

A bursary is not simply financial support, it is a life-changing opportunity.

“When you invest in people, you invest in hope. The bursary I received changed my life, opening doors I never thought possible and giving my family a future built on opportunity, not uncertainty.”
Former Bursary Student

“The bursary I received to attend Victoria College changed both my personal trajectory and that of my family. It gave me opportunities and confidence that shaped my future. I remain deeply grateful for the support that made it possible.”

One parent shared:

“The bursary support has made it possible for our family to access the school when this would otherwise have been beyond our reach. It has provided stability during a difficult period and helped ensure our son could continue his education at Victoria College.”

Another parent said:

“I am a single parent and responsible for my son’s care. The financial support we receive allows him to attend Victoria College and continue doing well at school.”
