Colours

To acknowledge and reward excellence in terms of effort or ability when representing the College's teams a variety of sports colours are awarded.

Colours Ties

Junior -sport
  • Awarded for prowess (participation and excellence) in Years 7 and 8.
  • 4 criteria have to be matched in order to a student to be considered for Colours.

 

  • Must play for the School team in both Years 7 and 8.
  • Show a level of excellence (Island Representation may be required in some areas)
  • Must attend all training sessions where possible.
  • Show outstanding levels of Etiquette and Sportsmanship.

 

Colts -colours
  • Awarded for prowess (participation or excellence) in Years 9 and 10.
  • 4 criteria have to be matched in order to a student to be considered for Colours.

 

  • Must be play for the School team in both Year 9 and 10.
  • Show a level of excellence (Island Representation may be required in some areas)
  • Must attend all training sessions where possible.
  • Show outstanding levels of Etiquette and Sportsmanship.

 

Senior -sports -colours
  • Awarded for prowess in College sport at 1st team level (two years minimum).
  • Can be awarded at any stage of a student's schooling.

 

  • Sports Prefect automatically qualifies.
  • 2nd XI hockey Captain qualifies if meeting other requirements.
  • Must show a level of excellence (Island Representation may be required in some areas)
  • Must attend all training sessions where possible.
  • Show outstanding levels of Etiquette and Sportsmanship.

Fencing

Due to the nature of Fencing at Victoria College with the students coached by an external coach and their only being one fixture a year (against Elizabeth College) colours are awarded to any boy who finishes in the top 16 in the National Championships three years in a row.  The boy will receive the tie of the age group he is in in his third year.
