Jersey Premium

Jersey Premium

Background

The Jersey Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include pupils who are Looked After Children (i.e. under the care of Children's Services in Jersey) OR live in a household claiming Income Support OR live in a 'registered' household that could receive Income Support. The intended effect of this funding is to accelerate progress and raise attainment.

It is up to the Leadership Team at Victoria College Preparatory School to decide how the Jersey Premium will be used; the Jersey Premium is paid directly to the School as we are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within our care. The Head Teacher will work closely with colleagues and parents to provide that Jersey Premium money is having a positive impact on children, represents good value for money and is a good use of resources.

All schools are required to report to CYPES on the amount of funding received, how this is being used, and the impact of any work done.

In 2018 Victoria College Preparatory School recieved £1920. Due to the limited number of pupils involved the details of provision cannot be shared.
