About the Foundation

In 2002 the Headmaster and Governors wanted to have a means of
supporting their long-term vision for the College so established
the Foundation as part of the 150th anniversary
celebrations. Headed at inception by Chairman of the
Trustees Philip Le Brocq, the Foundation raised over £2
Million in support of major refurbishment projects at both the
Prep and College. Most recently four much needed English
classrooms were built, and named after Philip in honour of his
lifetime's support of Victoria College.
Founders' Week was launched in 2013 to provide opportunity for
the school community to celebrate what makes life at Victoria
College so special. The week includes an all-school Founders' Walk,
which is lots of fun and helps to raise funds for The Foundation
Bursary; the announcement of the Victoria Citizenship Award and
Co-Curricular Award winners at the Founders' Day ceremony on 29
September, generously supported by Moore Stephens and Quilter
Cheviot Investment Management, and a Founders' Day Anthem is sung
by the choir, that was written by young composer and OV, Toby
Huelin; the first piece of school music since 1911 when the Carmen
was created by A.A.Worrall.
Keeping in touch and new friends
Key to achieving the Foundation's on-going objectives is to
build up a comprehensive database of everyone associated with
Victoria College over the years whilst deepening our relationships
with the wider Jersey community. For OVs is vital for us to have up
to date details so as to ensure you continue to receive our news.
