About Victoria College


 Welcome to our website, in which you will find detailed information about Victoria College which is a selective, boys’ fee-paying school situated in a prime position with stunning sea views overlooking the town of St. Helier, Jersey. The College serves students from all parts of the island. The roll in September 2009 was 700 day boys in the Senior School, ages 11-18, and 290 in the Preparatory School, ages 7-11. The Sixth Form comprises 168 scholars. The Head Master is in membership of the prestigious Head Masters’ Conference (HMC) that comprises the leading fee paying schools in the British Isles.

Files for boys wishing to attend College are open until the year 2021. If you have not registered for a place at College for your son, in the first instance, please contact our Admissions Registrar to request a Registration Form. Information about admission and details of the Entrance Examination will be forwarded to parents before the end of  October in the year prior to their son commencing secondary education.

Victoria College offers an educational environment of the highest order. Accommodation comprises newly refurbished, spacious specialist classrooms; eight specialist laboratories; three Art rooms; five Information Technology Suites; Geography and History rooms; superb Theatre; Drama studio; integrated Music suite with four rehearsal rooms; purpose built Technology Suite, Sports complex with swimming pool and Sports Pavilion with adjacent sport pitches.

The new multi-million pound Sports complex comprising sports hall, gymnasium, dance studio, fitness rooms, changing facilities and swimming pool opened in  2003.

There is a spacious well-stocked library where the main periodicals and quality newspapers are available, forming part of the ‘de Quetteville Resource Centre’. This is situated next to the Great Hall, part of the original buildings dating back to 1852 and designed by  Dean Jeune in the same design as the Great Hall at Pembroke College,
Oxford with which Victoria College has close links.

The College has undertaken major investment recently to ensure that the environment for our students is stimulating, thereby facilitating the best educational outcome. Other major projects have been identified to ensure that the College moves forward in the twenty first century from a position of strength to celebrate traditions dating back over 157 years, whilst at the same time blending modern facilities and techniques.
